My 12 favorite landscape photos of 2012
The same principles apply when shooting sunrises and sunsets. I’m sure everyone knows what they are. However, if you stick to them too faithfully, you’ll just end up with photos that look just like what the other guys have. It’s what you do (or what you’re willing to do) as a photographer that makes your photos different from the rest. To get this shot, I walked a good distance from the shore up to where the water was about neck high, submerged my tripod in salt water into soft sand, then positioned my camera just a couple of inches from the rippling water. This photo was one of the most risky shots I’ve ever taken, earning it a spot in my favorites for 2012.
